Cocktail of the Week: Afternoon Delight

…..This weeks return of cocktail of the week comes with one of my favorite fruity summer drinks to sip on. Great choice for get together as well for relaxing on a summer afternoon and with summer almost over, this would be a great time to take advantage of it. This recipe is actually my adaptation of a recipe courtesy of one of Hawaii’s hottest mixologists, Amie Fujiwara. I personally like a bit stronger taste in my drinks, feel free to use my version, the original, or make it to YOUR taste.

Afternoon Delight:
2 oz Absolut Mandarin (Original recipe calls for 1 1/2 oz)
1 oz Passion Fruit
1 oz Cranberry
1/2 oz Sweet n Sour (Original recipe calls for 1 oz)
1 tsp Passion Fruit concentrate
2 slices of Lime
3 Slices of Orange
Splash of Seven up

…..Muddle two slices of orange and the two slices of lime in a mixing glass. Then add your ingredients; vodka, juices, sour mix and concentrate. Shake and then pour into a either a Martini glass or a Collins glass, your choice. Top off with your 7 up and garnish with your last slice of orange. Enjoy.

Cocktail Of The Week: The Platinum Mojito

Though rum lovers everywhere will probably hate me for saying this, one of my favorite cocktails to enjoy on a hot summers day is the Mojito… without rum. Instead years ago I was introduced to just how wonderful a Mojito can be when you replace your rum with a premium silver tequila instead. Try one this week and see if it will have you skipping the rum from now on.

Patron Mojito

1 oz Patron Silver
3 Lime Squeezes
6 Mint Leaves
3/4th oz Agave Nectar
Top with Club Soda

Combine the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Shake thoroughly and strain into a glass with ice. Top with soda. Garnish with a Mint sprig and Lime wheel.

Cocktail of The Week: Mexican Orchard

This weeks featured cocktail recipe comes to us from the Camarena family. After recently getting my hand on a bottle of both the silver and reposado tequilas from the Camarena family I tried (and tried) several cocktails that were suggested on their website, as well as a few of my own. I thought one of the more tasty ones I came across was the Mexican Orchard. With Spring finally here and Summer just around the corner, this makes for a delicious drink to cool off with on a beautiful hot and sunny day.

Mexican Orchard

1 ½ oz. Familia Camarena Reposado Tequila
½ oz. Apple Liqueur
2 oz. Lime Juice or sour mix
1 oz. Lemon lime soda

Be sure to visit Camarena Tequila
for more great cocktail suggestions.

Cocktail of The Week: The Pama Kiss

Valentines Day is only a few days away. So in tribute I thought it only fitting to feature a sexy and seducing cocktail compliments of Pama Liqueur. Serve this to your significant other this Valentines Day and you will have them eating out of your palms.

Pama Kiss

1 1/2 oz. PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur
3/4 oz. Premium Sour Apple Vodka
1/2 oz. Cranberry Juice

Mix all ingredients and pour in glass of choice. To garnish, dust some raspberries with sugar and slide onto stirrer.

Cocktail of the Week: Pink Lemonade

This weeks cocktail of the week is the Pink Lemonade cocktail. I chose this because it works great as a tailgaters drink and with the college football’s championship game tonight and the NFL playoffs right around the corner, this fits in perfectly. You’ll be amazed what this combination of alcohol can combine to taste like.

Pink Lemonade Cocktail ( Courtesy of Southern Living)

1 (12-oz.) can frozen pink lemonade concentrate, thawed
3 (12-oz.) bottles beer (not dark), chilled
3/4 cup chilled vodka
Fresh cranberries for garnish

Stir together all three ingredients and pour over ice.
